New Housing Rescue and Foreclosure Prevention Act Signed
August 1, 2008 – The American Housing Rescue and Foreclosure Prevention Act of 2008 (the Housing Act) was signed into law on July 30th. It is the most sweeping housing legislation since the Great Depression and authorizes the Department of the Treasury to stem the tide of home foreclosures and provide a lifeline to mortgage lenders.
